A Sidecar is a cocktail which originated in either London or Paris during the first world war and is accredited to an American Army Captain who named it after the and named after the motorcycle sidecar in which he travelled to the bistro where the drink originated.

Ingredients 

The Original from Harry’s Bar – ParisSidecar

1 1/2 oz. VS or VSOP cognac
3/4 oz. Cointreau
3/4 oz. fresh lemon juice

Orange peel to garnish

Method

Shake all ingredients together with ice.

Strain into a chilled cocktail glass with a sugared rim.
Garnish with an orange peel.
