Pork Chops Braised in Beer

4 large pork chops
Salt and black pepper, to taste
1 tablespoon butter
½ cup sliced onion
1 (12-ounce) can beer

A few sage leaves to garnish

Salt and pepper both sides of the pork chops

Melt the butter in a frying pan and cook on both sides over a medium heat (about 8 minutes in total).

Add the onion and fry until soft.

Add the beer and boil over a high heat

Reduce to a simmer and cook, covered, until chops are cooked through, turning once, (45 to 60 minutes).

Garnish with the sage leaves and serve with mashed potatoes and vegetables or a green salad
