Plum Sauce to serve with Chinese Crispy Duck.   You can also use this sauce to baste chicken breasts or pork chops or ribs. This is a very quick and easy recipe but can make a plain dish seem more exotic.



3/4 (16 ounce) jar plum jamPlum Sauce
2 tablespoons rice or cider vinegar
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon minced onion
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

A little sesame oil to fry the onion


In a heavy saucepan gently fry the minced onion in a little sesame oil soft.

Add the rest of the ingredients

Bring to the boil sturring all the time

Remove from the heat

Serve with Chinese Crispy Duck and Chinese Pancakes
