Low Calorie Baked Pears a delicious dessert with only 148 per serving.  It is easy to make and cooks in the oven.  This recipe serves 4.

2 Tbsp chopped walnuts (1/2 oz.)
2 medium-sized pears, halved and cored
1/2 cup orange juice
1 Tbsp plus 1 tsp brown sugar
1/8 tsp ground cinnamon
Dash of salt
1/4 cup pitted, chopped dates
2 Tbsp raisins

Method

Preheat the oven to 375°F

Spread the walnuts evenly in a single layer on a small baking sheet. Bake for 3-4 minutes, or until lightly toasted. Set aside.

Put the orange juice, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt in a small saucepan, and heat over medium high heat until small bubbles begin to break the surface.

Continue to cook for two minutes, whisking all the time with a wire whisk, until the mixture thickens slightly.

Add the dates, raisins, and walnuts then remove from heat.

Place the pears, cored side up, in a single layer in a small baking dish.

Spoon in the fruit mixture evenly into the cored portion of each pear then add the fruit syrup, keeping back 2 Tbsp of syrup for garnishing after the pears have baked.

Bake the pears for 15 minutes at 375°F.

To serve drizzle the remaining syrup over the pears.
