Ginger Sponge Pudding



4 oz Self-raising flour                           

2 ox butter or margarine

1 Egg beaten

1 Tablespoon Treacle

1 Dessertspoon Sugar

½ Teaspoon died ginger


Cream the butter/margarine add the sugar, ginger and flour.

Beat the egg

Gently warm the treacle and sir into egg mixture

Mix everything together well

Grease a basin with a little butter or margarine and turn the mixture into it

Cover the basin with greaseproof paper

Steam for 2 hours

Serve with cream or custard
